Terms of Service
"Plain terms: buy Expedit once for yourself, or subscribe per seat for a team. It runs on your Mac, and your photos stay yours."
1. Who We Are
Expedit is made and sold by Expedit Limited, a company registered in England and Wales with company number 17512149 ("we", "us"). When you buy or use Expedit, your agreement is with Expedit Limited. Contact: [email protected].
2. Accepting These Terms
By downloading, installing, or using Expedit you agree to these terms. If we update them, continuing to use Expedit after the change means you accept the new version. We will tell you about significant changes on this page and in the app.
3. Buying Expedit
Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for all our orders. Paddle handles payment, tax, and invoices, under Paddle's Buyer Terms.
There are two ways to buy Expedit. The Individual license costs $99, including any VAT or sales tax, paid once. There is no subscription and nothing renews. The Business license costs $199 per seat per year, including any VAT or sales tax, as an annual subscription, and is described in section 5. A business with ten or more seats should contact us.
4. Your Individual License
The Individual license is for one named person: the person who bought it. It gives that person a non-exclusive, non-transferable license to install and use Expedit on one Mac at a time that they own or control. You may use Expedit for any purpose that is lawful and within these terms, including paid client work. If you are a sole trader or run a one-person business, the Individual license is the one for you. It cannot be shared with, or passed on to, anyone else. The license does not expire, subject to these terms.
- Activation: you activate Expedit with the email address you bought with. It runs on one Mac at a time: activating it on another Mac moves your license there and signs the first Mac out, so switching to a new Mac never needs our help.
- Checking in: Expedit works offline, but it needs to confirm your license over the internet from time to time. If it cannot check in for an extended period, it pauses predictions until it can.
- Updates: your purchase includes all future updates to Expedit, at no extra cost.
5. Business License
The Business license is bought by an organisation, for use by its staff. It is an annual subscription charged per seat, with a minimum of 2 seats. Each seat is for one person and lets that person use Expedit on one Mac at a time. Everything in section 4 applies to each seat, except that the seat belongs to the organisation rather than to the individual.
- Seats and admin: the person who buys the Business license is the organisation's admin. The admin assigns seats to the organisation's staff by email address and can move a seat to someone else, for example when a member of staff leaves. A seat cannot be used by more than one person.
- Activation: each person activates Expedit with the email address their seat was assigned to. A seat runs on one Mac at a time. Removing someone from the team signs their Mac out at its next license check.
- Renewal and cancellation: the subscription renews every year until it is cancelled. Cancelling stops the next renewal, and the plan keeps running to the end of the paid year. Refunds are covered in our Refund Policy.
- Adding seats: to add or remove seats, contact us.
- Business customers: a Business license is sold to organisations acting in the course of their business. It is a business-to-business purchase, so the cancellation rights the law gives consumers don't apply, but the 14-day guarantee on the first payment still does.
6. What You May Not Do
You agree not to:
- use Expedit for anything unlawful, fraudulent, or to send spam;
- share, resell, rent, or sublicense your license, or help anyone get around the one-Mac-at-a-time limit;
- remove, disable, or work around the license checks;
- copy, modify, or reverse engineer Expedit, except where the law allows it regardless of these terms;
- attack or interfere with our services, including probing, scanning, or scraping them, overloading them, or introducing malware;
- use Expedit to infringe anyone else's intellectual property.
7. Your Photos, Edits, and Model
Everything you put into Expedit and everything it produces belongs to you: your photos, your catalog, your edits, and the model Expedit trains on your Mac. They are processed locally and we never receive them. You are responsible for having the rights to the photos you edit. Expedit does not host or publish content; if you believe Expedit itself infringes your rights, email us and we will look into it promptly. We may end the license of anyone who repeatedly uses Expedit to infringe others' rights.
8. Our Software
Expedit, its code, name, and logo, and this website belong to Expedit Limited. Your license lets you use the software; it does not transfer any ownership.
9. Predictions Are Suggestions
Expedit's edits and culling marks are predictions computed from your own editing history. They will sometimes differ from what you would have chosen, so review the results before you publish or deliver work. Every edit lands as an ordinary, undoable Lightroom history step, and culling never deletes a photo.
10. Keep Your Own Backups
Expedit opens your catalog read-only and applies every edit through Lightroom's official plugin integration, but no software is perfect. Keep regular backups of your Lightroom catalog and photos, as you would with any editing tool.
11. No Guarantee of Uninterrupted Service
We work hard to keep Expedit and its license and update services running, but we cannot promise they will be uninterrupted or error-free. Apart from the commitments in these terms and your rights under consumer law, Expedit is provided as it is.
12. Our Responsibility to You
Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else the law does not allow us to limit. Your rights as a consumer are not affected.
If we break these terms, we are responsible for loss you suffer that was a foreseeable result. We are not responsible for loss that was not foreseeable, for loss of data you could have avoided by keeping backups, or for business losses such as lost profit or lost opportunity. If you use Expedit for business, our total liability to you is limited to the price you paid for it.
13. Refunds
Every purchase comes with a 14-day money-back guarantee. See our Refund Policy for how it works.
14. Suspension and Termination
You can stop using Expedit at any time. We may suspend or end your license if you materially break these terms, if a payment is refunded or reversed, if we see fraud or a security risk, or after repeated or serious violations.
If your license ends, Expedit stops making new predictions, training, and culls. Your photos, catalog, and edits are untouched, and reverting anything Expedit applied remains available.
15. Adobe Lightroom
Expedit works with Adobe Lightroom Classic, which you license separately from Adobe. Adobe and Lightroom are trademarks of Adobe Inc. Expedit is not affiliated with or endorsed by Adobe.
16. If You Use Expedit for Business
If you use Expedit in the course of a business and break these terms or the law, you agree to cover our reasonable costs of any third-party claim that results.
17. Transfers
We may transfer our rights and obligations under these terms to another organisation, for example if the business is sold; we will make sure your rights are not reduced. You may not transfer your license without our written agreement.
18. Law and Disputes
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and disputes go to the courts of England and Wales. If you are a consumer living elsewhere, you keep the protection of your local mandatory consumer law and may bring a claim in your local courts.
